4 Days - Travel Savannahlander Train - $690 pp Twin Share

Departs Cairns every Wednesday 6.30am returning to Cairns Central Station 6:15pm Saturday

Travel on the historic Savannahlander Train, leave your car at home and let us do the "driving" while you enjoy the sights.

WEDNESDAY the day of departure, at 6:30am while the rest of Cairns is only just stirring into life, the train quietly slips out through the Northern Suburbs of Cairns, Freshwater and Redlynch, where it then begins its ascent of the famous Kuranda Range.
Stops are made at Stoney Creek, Barron Falls and Kuranda. We then follow the Barron River around to Mareeba for a short stop and on to Mutchilba for a morning tea stop.
Under way again, briefly stopping at Dimbulah we arrive at Almaden where lunch is available for purchase. We then transfer you to Chillagoe by bus.
Once settled into your room, a tour bus will collect you from our Guesthouse at 3.00pm for the afternoon Cave & Town Tour dropping you back approx 5.30pm.
Later, a leisurely walk to the Chillagoe Hotel Motel for your evening meal anytime between 6-8pm.

THURSDAY Commencing at 10:30am an "Outer Town Tour" is awaiting you, visiting Balancing Rock, Mungana Caves, Marble Mine & Cemetery. The tour returns approximately 12:30pm and the afternoon is spent at your own leisure.
Your evening meal will be at the Eco Lodge Restaurant and will be collected by bus at 6.30pm from our Guesthouse.
After your dinner, the Eco Lodge offers a Star Gazing Experience at a cost of $15/adult, $8.50/child and participation is optional and depending on cloud conditions.
When you are ready to retire, the bus will return you to the Guesthouse for the evening.

FRIDAY is spent entirely at your discretion exploring on foot the town historic sites, water holes and just simply relaxing.
Your evening meal will be at either the Hotel Motel or the Eco Lodge Restaurant.
The Meal Voucher will be valid at either venue, however you will need to walk as there is no scheduled bus for this evening.

SATURDAY your return journey commences with a bus transfer from our Guesthouse at 11:00 am to Almaden Station.
Lunch is available for purchase at the Almaden Hotel
The Savannahlander departs Almaden at 12:15 pm and arrives back at Cairns Central Station 6:15pm.

INCLUSIONS:- Accommodation, Continental Breakfast, 2 Course Meals each evening, transfers to and from Almaden Station and Tours as described. All you need to look out for is lunch daily.
There are 2 Hotels, Grocery Store and a Take Away shop with walking distance of our Guesthouse.

EXCLUSIONS:- Purchases from Mutchilba Cafe, daily lunches & drinks other than complimentary.
Single Room Supplement please add $110 per single room requested.

CONDITIONS:- This is a standby package subject to availability and only available up to 4 weeks in advance.
Whilst booking requests will be accepted beyond 4 weeks, confirmation will not be possible earlier.
Deposit of $200 required within 7 days of confirmation of availability.
Balance of fare required in full 7 days before travel date.
